Thailand
Island hopping with halal restaurants planned stop by stop
Thailand is the classic case of a destination that is wonderful for Muslim travellers if someone does the homework. The country is Buddhist-majority, but it has a large Muslim community in the deep south and in Bangkok, and halal restaurants are plentiful in the places you actually visit — Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai. We book them in advance, arrange halal meals on the boats, and then let the islands be the reason you came.
Why Thailand works for Muslim travellers
The four things that actually decide whether a destination is comfortable — food, prayer, the group, and the guide.
Halal, pre-booked
Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai all have established halal restaurants; we reserve them in advance and arrange halal meals on boats.
Islands that justify the flight
Phi Phi, Krabi's limestone bays and the quieter Gulf islands.
Mosques in the places you go
Working mosques in Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai, with quiet stops arranged on boat days.
Alcohol-free group
The party islands are the default way to see Thailand; our groups are not that.

Halal food & prayer
Halal restaurants are established in Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai, and on the islands by arrangement. We pre-book every group meal and arrange halal food on boat days rather than leaving it to chance.
Best time to go
November to April on the Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) and January to April in the Gulf. The two coasts have opposite monsoon seasons.
