Turkey
Ottoman mosques, Cappadocia at sunrise and a coast built for slow evenings
Turkey is the easiest big destination in the world to travel as a Muslim. Halal food is the default rather than the exception, there is a mosque within walking distance of almost every hotel, and the country's Islamic heritage — Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Süleymaniye, the Mevlâna Museum in Konya — is the headline act rather than a footnote. Our groups are capped at 16 travellers, move on domestic flights instead of 12-hour bus rides, and stay in cave hotels and family-run pensions rather than party resorts.
Why Turkey works for Muslim travellers
The four things that actually decide whether a destination is comfortable — food, prayer, the group, and the guide.
Halal is the default
Every included meal is halal. Restaurants are Muslim-owned, halal-certified, or checked by our Istanbul team. No pork, no alcohol, seafood and vegetarian backups pre-planned.
Prayer built into the day
Mosque stops are written into every day — Süleymaniye, Çamlıca and local mosques in each city. Friday prayer is held at a historic mosque in Istanbul.
Islamic heritage front row
Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Mevlâna Museum in Konya, home of Rumi.
Small group, real guides
16 travellers maximum, 12 on average, with one trip leader plus local guides in Cappadocia and Pamukkale.
Top experiences
- ✓Istanbul old city: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar
- ✓Cappadocia: sunrise hot air balloon flight, Göreme Open Air Museum, a cave-hotel night
- ✓Konya: the Mevlâna Museum and the legacy of Rumi
- ✓Pamukkale: white travertine terraces, Hierapolis and warm thermal pools
- ✓Antalya: Kaleiçi old harbour, Hadrian's Gate and the Düden waterfalls
Halal food & prayer
Every restaurant on our Turkey departures is Muslim-owned, halal-certified, or verified in person by the Istanbul team. No alcohol is served and no pork enters the kitchen. Seafood and vegetarian backups are pre-planned at every stop, and your guide carries a translated dietary card.
Best time to go
April to June and September to November. July and August are hot and busy on the coast; Cappadocia is beautiful in winter but balloon flights depend on the weather.
Questions people ask about Turkey
Is halal food easy to find in Turkey?
Yes — it is the norm rather than the exception. On our departures every included meal is halal, and restaurants are Muslim-owned, halal-certified, or verified in person before the group arrives.
Can women travel solo on a Turkey trip?
Yes. Around 60% of our travellers join solo and over half are women. You can room with another sister, request a female guide on our sisters-only departure, and groups are alcohol-free with a written code of conduct.
